Experience the best of the San Juan Mountains with the Silverton Alpine Runs. Choose from an 8-miler, marathon, or 50-kilometer run along the breathtaking Alpine Loop. The marathon and 50K courses take runners through the historic mining ghost towns of Howardsville, Eureka, Animas Forks, and Gladstone, with a high point at 12,930 feet atop California Pass and a low point in Silverton at 9,318 feet. Total vertical gain is 3,800 feet for the marathon and 4,100 feet for the 50K. The race starts and finishes in the beautiful Town of Silverton, Colorado.
